Sanctity and natural beauty - this is what Gokarna abounds in. Where the sound of temple bells clears your doubts, and makes you leave all your tensions at the feet of the deity, the waves from Arabian Sea at another end tempt you to take a dip in the cool waters. Once Gokarna was known just for being a pilgrimage site, but scenario has changed over the past few years. Its tranquil beaches dotted with coconut palms attract as many leisure tourists as the pilgrims. Though Mahabaleshwara Temple captures the prime attention of pilgrims, the five stunning beaches along the coast are loved by the young age groups and foreign tourists. MAJOR ATTRACTIONS IN GOKARNA
    MAHABALISWARA TEMPLE

Atmalinga the much-revered Shivalimgam is the main attraction of this temple. Gokarna beach is in the backside of the temple.

  GANAPATHI TEMPLE

Situated adjacent to the Mahabaliswara temple near the temple one can see too huge chariots. They are dragged through the main street in a grand procession suring Shiva festival on February / March.

  KUDLE BEACH

Just one Km from Gokarna the Kudle Beach is now attracting several travelers. It is said that with shrewd planning Kudle can be easily converted to an International Beach . Anyway in the first face itself Kudle grabbing people from Gokarna. This beach is relatively calm and quite. It is a collection of four perfect half moon beaches with hemmed in by headlands and supported by Western Ghats .

   OM BEACH
This is the next beach in Gokarna and in 20 minutes walk from Kudle beach. Om beach got that name from its distinctive OM shape. This beach will remain deserted for the most of the daytime.
   HALF MOON BEACH AND PARADISE BEACH
This twin beaches are more isolated that both the Om and Kudle beaches. About 30 minutes from OM beach. Same attached types of accommodation are available on Paradise beach.
